Invisalign

In the past, straightening crooked teeth required bulky, uncomfortable metal braces.

At North Meridian Dental Excellence, we offer Invisalign®, which uses comfortable, virtually invisible aligners to straighten your smile.

So what makes Invisalign a great choice?

Clear aligners covering a lower arch of teeth

Invisalign Straightens Your Smile without Disrupting Your Life

Discreet

Invisalign aligners are custom-crafted from a clear plastic material, so they fit securely and blend into your smile.

Comfortable

The smooth material of the aligners won't rub or scratch the inside of your mouth, making Invisalign much more comfortable than traditional braces.

Easy to Use

Invisalign is removable, meaning you can care for your teeth just like normal and continue to enjoy the food and activities you love without restrictions.

Will Invisalign work for me?

Invisalign Can Correct a Range of Mild to Moderate Issues

Underbites

When the bottom teeth stick out past the upper teeth, this is called an underbite. This type of misalignment can cause difficulty eating, speaking, and swallowing.
>

Crossbites

A crossbite occurs when the upper and lower teeth are not properly aligned, which can cause jaw pain and other issues.

Overbites

An overbite happens when the upper teeth extend too far over the lower teeth, affecting eating and increasing the likelihood of chipping a tooth.

Gapped Teeth

Spaces between teeth can interfere with the pronunciation of certain words and make it more difficult to eat properly.

Open Bites

With an open bite, the upper and lower jaws do not meet properly, which can interfere with biting, chewing, and speaking.

Crowded Teeth

When teeth are too close together, it is more difficult to brush and floss, increasing your risk of tooth decay and gum disease.

But how do I choose between Invisalign and braces?

We Can Help You Find the Right Solution for Your Smile

Invisalign can treat many of the same issues as traditional metal braces. In addition to providing an enhanced level of comfort and convenience, Invisalign is often faster and more affordable. While braces may be necessary for more severe misalignment, Dr. Ahlbrecht can handle a wide range of issues through Invisalign.

The best way to find out if Invisalign is right for you is to schedule an appointment at our office. Dr. Ahlbrecht can examine your smile and determine the best treatment option for your needs and goals.

Straighten Your Smile  Discreetly and Conveniently with Invisalign®

Invisalign® is a popular and effective alternative to traditional braces. The clear plastic mouthpieces are discreet, and because they are removable, they are far easier to maintain. Dr. Benjamin D. Ahlbrecht can determine if you are an Invisalign® candidate during a consultation at his Indianapolis, IN, office. In general, if you wish to correct misaligned teeth, but do not want an orthodontic treatment that requires metal hardware and keeps you from eating all the foods you love, you are likely an Invisalign® candidate.

What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is a comfortable alternative to traditional orthodontics. Instead of metal brackets and wires, Invisalign® treatment uses a series of customized clear aligners to gently move the teeth. These smooth plastic aligners are virtually invisible. They are also removable, so you can enjoy the foods you love and clean your teeth as normal.

Each aligner in the series is worn for two weeks before moving on to the next. The overall treatment timeline is comparable to that of traditional braces, and Invisalign® is capable of correcting many of the same alignment issues.

What Can Invisalign® Resolve?

Invisalign® is most appropriate for patients with mild to moderate orthodontic issues. These may include gapped or crooked teeth, overbite, underbite, or crossbite. While Invisalign® can benefit some cases considered severe, some patients may be better suited to traditional braces. You can depend on Dr. Ahlbrecht to only recommend treatment he believes will truly provide long-term benefits.

The Invisalign® Treatment Process

Dr. Ahlbrecht is experienced in both cosmetic dentistry and orthodontics, and will determine if you are a good candidate for Invisalign® during an initial consultation at our office. He will discuss your goals and assess your degree of malocclusion using advanced diagnostic tools. These tools will allow him to provide you with an animated three-dimensional representation of the transformation your smile will undergo during treatment. This data will be sent to the Invisalign® lab, where technicians will create your custom series of aligners.

Many insurance plans now cover at least a portion of orthodontic treatment, including Invisalign®.

Once you have received your aligners, you should wear them for at least 22 hours per day, removing them only during meals. You will return to our office for follow-up appointments every six weeks. At this time, Dr. Ahlbrecht will carefully evaluate your progress.

Financing Your Orthodontic Treatment

Many insurance plans now cover at least a portion of orthodontic treatment, including Invisalign®. Our knowledgeable staff is glad to speak to your insurance provider on your behalf to maximize any available coverage for Invisalign®. If you need assistance financing any portion of treatment not covered by insurance, please speak with our staff. We can work with you to develop a payment plan that fits comfortably within your budget.
